Extreme heat and humidity changes can cause cracking and splitting. Take care not to place rubber or plastic materials on to the wood finish as chemicals within rubber and plastic can react with the finish if left in contact for a long period.If you plan to use your furniture in a bathroom environment, then please ensure it is well ventilated and humidity is controlled to reduce the risk of wood swelling.
