What started out in 1963 as a small family business is now a multi award-winning design enterprise that’s furnished homes, offices and public spaces all over the world. Based just outside Milan in Italy, Pedrali was founded by Mario Pedrali over half a century ago and is proud to manufacture all of its furniture in its production facility.
Pedrali is most well known for its innovation and style in chair design and has won a Compasso d'Oro ADI for its Frida chair, which was born out of a collaboration with Italian designer, Odo Fioravanti. By collaborating with internationally renowned designers like Fioravanti and others like Marc Sadler and Marco Piva, Pedrali’s furniture boasts incredible Italian style with a timeless, European quality that’s achieved through precision and flair. The company puts great emphasis on product development and focusses its efforts on sourcing the best raw materials and testing its products thoroughly before putting them into production. Some of their most popular pieces come from a collaboration with Italian designers, Claudio Dondoli and Marco Pocci, who founded the Archirivolto Studio in 1983. Working with Pedrali on over fifty different seating designs, including the famous Gliss Chair and the Volt Armchair, which won a Red Dot Design Award in 2014, this design duo share Pedrali’s enthusiasm for researching and developing the most innovative materials and construction methods.
In addition to seating, Pedrali is also skilled in creating tables, lamps and other homewares. The Italian brand mainly uses plastic, metal and wood and always operates with a sustainable conscience. Gracing the covers of almost every design magazine since it began, Pedrali, at its heart, is absolutely about style but as a large furniture manufacturer, they’re acutely aware of their environmental responsibility and take it very seriously. Always looking to create furniture that is both resistant to wear and aesthetic trends, Pedrali aims to create reliable, progressive Italian furnishings and pays specific attention to raw material consumption, waste management and emissions control. In a bid to assist the recycling process, their pieces are designed to be broken up and polymers are able to be normalised. The wood used in their manufacturing process is certified by the FSC.
Because of the exceptional quality and impressive durability of Pedrali’s furnishings, the majority of the company’s pieces are produced for the contract market. It’s likely that you will have seen their chairs and tables in cafes, bars or restaurants because the construction techniques they use ensure that each piece is built to last and is resistant to prolonged use, frequent movement, regular cleaning and different weight distributions. In addition, this stylish Italian brand produced pieces suitable for outside, using materials that are resistant to UV rays and water so they don’t fade, splinter or contort when enduring the elements.
We’re pleased to be able to offer a hand-picked selection of Pedrali’s best products that are available for both businesses and homes so browse their high-style range of premium furnishings and achieve the ideal look in every room.Read More...
