The Hauteville Low Armchair is part of the much larger Hauteville Collection which shows off concrete in a way which redefines its purpose and makes it seem a perfectly regular household material.
The Hauteville Low Armchair combines a concrete shell seat with rebar steel legs and rubber feet. The seat is a perfectly formed shell-style seat which features a smoothed concrete for the seat element and rough concrete for the back and underside. The rough concrete adds more depth and texture to the seat and also enhances its urban, industrial feel. The chair mimics the style of a traditional armchair and is comfortable despite its stark construction. Each chair weighs 19kg and is 64cm in width, 59cm in depth and 64cm in height with a seat height of 32cm. The chair is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use but needs to be brought inside during wet and frosty weather.
