The Geometric II Collection by Cole and Son is a dazzling collection of eleven original and contemporary designs. It was put together as a follow up to the hugely successful Geometric Collection which was launched in 2011. It is a decorative and bold choice for any space in your home and the designs also have a familiar quality as they use recognisable motifs in exciting new ways. The decorative and ornamental style of the early 20th century has been given a captivating new look.
The Geometric II Collection finds most of its inspiration from the Art Deco Movement, architecture and it is inspired by art and design from around the globe. Everything from the colours and exotic style of Miami to the mosaic tiles many Art Dec environments are known for, Geometric II brings this classic and loved design style to the modern home.
Cole and Son has been delivering exceptional design since the 19th century. Founded in 1875 as a company specialising in block printing they grew quickly. By the 20th century their designs incorporated the newest techniques in printing as well as maintaining traditional methods. The company’s long experience in the industry and commitment to every trend and period of style means they have an exceptional design archive. There are over 1800 wooden printing blocks and over 350 individual screen print designs in the archive and each one can be used for inspiration for new collections.
The patterns in the Geometric II Collection follow the style and trend of the Art Deco movement. Many patterns are simple and repeated whilst others have an illusory quality. There are bold colourways as you would expect from a collection which experiments with shapes and style but there are also simpler, more neutral colourways. Many of the wallpapers are designed for feature and statement spaces and they bring something unique to your home.
Boldly graphic and contemporary the Geometric II Collection includes the vibrant Deco Palm wallpaper. Inspired by the exotic palms and foliage of Miami, the natural shapes and styles of leaves have morphed into a geometric pattern, available in both neutral and striking colourways. There is also the maze-like Luxor wallpaper, named after the Egyptian tomb site. It is a stunning, illusory pattern which incorporates an intricate trellis and a choice of rich colourways, as well as subtler options. The stand out wallpaper from the Geometric II Collection is Miami. Highly illustrative and like the page of a storybook, Miami is inspired by the bright colours and bold architecture of South Beach. It draws you in with its almost fluid design and incorporates foliage, mosaic tiles and a captivating originality.
Geometric II manages to bring the essence of the Art Deco movement to the modern world. The wallpapers have an almost three-dimensional quality, perfectly creating that illusion of the architecture which has inspired them.
